About Me

Hi, Thanks for coming!

I’m Lucy, I’m 27 years old and I work full-time as a team eader in distribution whilst studying part-time. I have a young family so life for me is pretty busy and there’s never a dull moment!

My current study is Business Management and Communications at foundation degree level. The thing I enjoy the most about the course is the writing; it’s something I’ve decided to continue in my own time for my own enjoyment, to improve my skills and in this case to really get to know and understand a subject that I feel very passionately about.

I see an ongoing clash of interests within myself and in the world around me. Now please don’t mistake me for an expert in anything! I am no expert in business or in ethics and I have no answers; actually that’s the point.

One thing I have noticed about the world is that most people are hypocrites, myself included and I mean no offence so please bear with me. I try my best to shop ethically, for example I go out of my way to ensure most of my cosmetics aren’t tested on animals; note the word ‘most’.

I have also had people tell me that the non animal tested cosmetics I buy are a scam, and that “UK cosmetics are never tested on animals” so I am wasting my money. I’d like to find out what is true and what is not.

Of course I’m not just talking about animal testing, my blogs will explore some of the many ethical issues within business objectively with the motive of understanding for myself how I should behave as a consumer and what I should expect from businesses. I also want to understand what is a realistic expectation for the moment and what should we expect in future; I hope to find us heading to a more sustainable future.

I’d like to start making the right decisions based on real information and find a balance between being an Eco-warrior and living like a normal human being in our society! I’d love to help some like-minded people to decide the same things for themselves.
